Post From Toronto

I'm having trouble accessing the program that I use to post photos from this blog so I'll just post them right into the body of the post. The first photos are of Eabha and I on the flight from Halifax to Toronto. The following photos that are watermarked with the "Vineimages" logo are from a photo shoot that my sister Elizabeth arranged as an XMass gift. I thought they were really good so I got a digital version and decided to throw them online as well. The un-watermarked photos are ones that I took during the photoshoot. The last photos are from the BCE place in Toronto where we went to eat afterwards and finally a foggy photo of a balmy CN Tower in December.

HCAP VS. TRANSGLOBE

This post is intended to relay Haliax Coalition Against Poverty's (HCAP) most recent victory. Together with seditiously stubborn and courageous Transglobe tennants, HCAP paid a visit to Transglobe's office with the hope of applying pressure on the slum lords to make their housing safe and livable (here are the details of the case).

Transglobe (also here, and in vancouver, and some message board disscussion about Transglobe) is a parasitic corporation that preys on low income tennants. The photos of the insides of the residencies in question were nothing short of appaling. Transglobe had refused to be accountable, and had (earlier in the day of the action) cancelled a meeting with HCAP just before it was planned.

I believe the photos and videos tell the rest of the story.
