Vegan Victory

Did anyone/everyone hear about this headline news article?

Low-fat, vegan diet hailed for Type 2 diabetes

When I get asked about veganism, the most common 'auto-response' I get is: "why would we have these canine teeth if we weren't meant to eat meat?"

First of all we humans are primates, and our bodies are very much designed for a plant based diet. Heart disease is the number one killer of canadians because we have diets that are inconsistent with our physiology.

Here is a video that I think articulates that:

How well understood is veganism? I think I've found a video that acurately reflects general knowledge on the subject:

I loved that first video John! The line about apples and bunnies at the end sums it up perfectly I think! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods, give my love to Emily and Eabha!

Hey Ash,

Thanx for the comment! All is well, Emily just scooped up a great tattooing gig, and Eabha is looking forward to the Evolve music festival (a few posts back).

Hello Care,

I appreciate you comment as well (as always) however eronious.

It appears as though the difference in chimpanzee diet is related to whether or not it is a pygmy or common chimpanzee. It's just the common ones that are slightly omnivorous (and who want's to be common anyway?). The pygmy chimp has "an egalitarian, matriarchal, sexually promiscuous culture." Wikipedia: "chimpanzee"

With regards to gorillas (the closest living relative to humans after the two chimpanzee species), they are regarded as strict omnivores, save for insects - 1-2% of diet - (hence the very large stomachs). Wikipedia: "gorilla"

Thanks for stopping by!

Just to be clear,

I meant comments "(as always)"; NOT eronious "(as always)". LOL

And those gorillas would be strict herbavores rather that omnivores...aside from the insects.
